Spring 2009
The exhibition, Still Point in the Turning World, was the culminating exercise for the
degree of Masters of Fine Arts in Art and explored, through works on paper, the process
of mark-making, and the importance of the process therein. Attention to Minimalism,
Post-Minimalism and Process Art were explored through limited use of materials, and set
limitations of actions while creating the work. An interest in the process was a dominant
concern, while the ancillary ideas presented themselves formally in the work. The
installation of the work was influenced through research of Minimalist Exhibitions of the
mid to late twentieth century. The exhibition ran from 1 December 2008 through 12
December 2008 with a reception and Artistâ s Talk on 3 December 2008 at 5 oâ clock p.m.
