The Judas tree

The Judas Tree is a collection of poetry that focuses on the act of witnessing tragedy. This collection explores specific events I have observed in both nature and in firefighting. Many of the experiences in the collection were witnessed first-hand. The pain of others and the aftermath are already sensitive material to cover. Therefore, a majority of these poems try to capture what it is to witness, then carry the physical and psychological burden of others through vivid images and conciseness. The other poems in the collection focus on the consolations of nature. Most of the poems are short in length but hold powerful images meant to pass on the witnessed experience to the reader.
